VC Hands Over Site For 8-storey Complex Construction

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Emmanuel Ohene Afoakwa, has handed over the site for the construction of an 8-storey office and lecture hall complex on 20th November 2023 at the main campus, Tesano.

Delivering his brief speech at the ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor expressed excitement over the project since it would be one of his many legacies since his assumption of office after which other projects would follow. He indicated that the project, which would be IGF funded, went through public tender and eventually awarded to ASIB Limited.

Prof. Ohene Afoakwa, touched on the duration of the project and said, the contractor had been given 18 months to complete the project. “We want this project very, very fast, at top speed.” he said. He stated that the University was expecting very high enrollment of students in the years to come and therefore, it was essential to build enough facilities to accommodate them.

He extended his appreciation to the Directorate of Works and Physical Development and the Procurement Unit for their contributions to the University’s progress, particularly the Silicon Valley agenda.

The General Manager of ASIB Limited, Ing. Nana Asibey, expressed his gratitude to Prof. Afoakwa, Management and the entire University community. He assured the University that his company would make sure the project is completed within the time frame and in line with the requisite quality specifications.
