Lead in the development and implementation of the human resource policies of the University; and (b) provide strategic planning with respect to the human resource needs of the University; |
Coordinate all appointment and promotion processes in the University |
Oversee recruitment process in close coordination with Heads of Departments |
Keep, maintain and update records of Staff; |
Plan and ensure execution of staff orientation and career development programmes; |
Provide general support services and recreational activities to Staff |
Ensure the timely renewal and termination of employment contracts |
Manage Staff compensation and benefits in conjunction with the Directorate of Finance |
Institute and maintain a system for monitoring and evaluating the performance of all employees of the University and submit reports thereon to the Vice-Chancellor and the Council; |
Manage and advise on the collective bargaining process and collective agreements with unionized staff; |
Draw and maintain an effective succession plan; andcoordinate employee activities in compliance with national and international laws; |
Institute a system for continuing education and in-service training for all employees of the University |
