
We are thrilled to inform the University Community that in accordance with Section 40 (3) of the University Statutes, Dr. Daniel Kuyoli Ngala, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Telecommunication Engineering, has been appointed as the Head of Department (HoD), Telecommunication Engineering, effective 1st August 2025.
This appointment follows elections held within the Department, under the Faculty of Engineering. The Dean subsequently submitted the names of two eligible candidates to the Vice-Chancellor. Following a review and selection process by University Management, Dr. Ngala was appointed to the role.
Dr. Ngala will serve an initial term of two years, from 1st August 2025 to 31st July 2027. He will be eligible for reappointment for a second term, subject to satisfactory performance, and in accordance with the University’s statutory retirement age of sixty (60) years.
Dr. Ngala holds a Ph.D. in Telecommunication Engineering (2024) and an MSc in Telecommunication Engineering (2012), both from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). He joined GCTU as a Lecturer on 19th January 2016 and was promoted to Senior Lecturer on 1st February 2025.
