
The Chief Executive of the Youth Employment Agency, Mr. Malik Basintale, has said that empowering young people remains a national priority, encouraging participants to take advantage of government programmes designed to boost employment, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
Mr. Basintale made this statement during the “Empower Vault Summit 2026” organized by the GCTU SRC as part of its Akwaaba Week Celebration for the 2025/26 Freshers held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at the Florence Onny Auditorium. The flagship event was on the theme, “Fueling Purpose, Shaping Leaders.”

The Chief Executive urged tertiary students to identify their purpose, build valuable networks and develop relevant skills to thrive in today’s competitive global economy. He emphasized the importance of self-discovery, resilience and continuous learning as key ingredients for personal and professional success.

The summit featured panel discussions and interactive mentorship sessions where industry experts shared insights on leadership, financial literacy and business development. Participants were encouraged to take advantage of opportunities in the digital space, entrepreneurship and innovation to create sustainable livelihoods

The Member of Parliament for the Weija-Gbawe Constituency, Mr. Jerry Ahmed Shaib, who was a guest at the event, advised participants to take advantage of insights offered by mentors and industry giants at the summit to enhance their career pathways, leading to their success in life.
The summit brought together students, young entrepreneurs and industry leaders for a day of inspiration, mentorship and skills development.
The Empower Vault Summit 2026 is part of a growing movement of youth-focused conferences across tertiary institutions aimed at equipping young people with the mindset, skills and confidence to pursue excellence in their chosen careers.
