Sogakope SHS Students Tour GCTU Facilities

The students were led on the visit by their ICT tutor, Mr. Agidi.

GCTU has hosted 41 final-year ICT students from Sogakope Senior High School who paid a familiarization visit to the University on Friday, 18th June 2024.

This visit was a direct result of the GCTU Recruitment Team’s earlier visit to Sogakope SHS, where they promoted the University’s academic programmes.

The ICT teacher at Sogakope SHS and an adjunct lecturer at GCTU, Mr. Isaac Frank Agidi, led the students on the visit. He explained that the students’ curiosity about the University, particularly the Department of Computer Science, motivated the visit. They were eager to explore the facilities used for training ICT professionals and to prepare themselves for future advanced ICT education.

The students were given a tour of the University’s ICT installations and facilities.

The Director of Academic Affairs at GCTU, Dr. Godwin Utuka, welcomed the students on behalf of the University’s Management. He commended their enthusiasm and assured them that GCTU is dedicated to providing quality ICT education and preparing students for leadership roles in the field.

The Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Michael Nana Owusu-Akomeah, encouraged the students to consider GCTU for its student-centered approach and strong teacher-student relationships, which facilitate practical learning. He emphasized the University’s commitment to offering a supportive and enriching educational experience.

Senior Assistant Registrar, Mr. Joseph Adane, who had previously met the students at Sogakope SHS, also welcomed them. He encouraged them to apply to GCTU for quality ICT training and assured them of an informative tour.

The students toured the campus, experiencing firsthand the facilities and resources available at GCTU for ICT training.
