Ghana Technology University College (GTUC) Graduate School held an orientation ceremony at the Florence Onny Auditorium. The event, which officially welcomed the newly admitted May cohort Masters students, served as an induction ceremony for new entrants onto both our Coventry and Anhalt University programmes.

The students were formally welcomed into the University community by the Acting President, Professor Emmanuel Ohene Afoakwa, who encouraged students to make the most of the opportunity that lay ahead of them. He urged them to manage their time well and utilize the various resources available to them in order to enhance their learning experience. In closing, Prof. Afoakwa congratulated the new students on their enrollment in their various courses and advised them to take cognizance of the University’s core values, applying them to both their academic and professional pursuits.

The orientation was also attended by the Vice President, Prof. Isaac Abeku Blankson, and the Dean of the Graduate School, Dr. Ebenezer Malcalm. In his address to the students, Dr. Malcalm offered an informative insight into life as a graduate student at GTUC, as well as a detailed breakdown of the intricacies surrounding academic work and research.

In addition, the Dean reiterated the President’s message regarding an alignment with the core values of excellence, innovation, student-centeredness, academic freedom and integrity, emphasizing that the University would endeavor at all times to incorporate them into the students’ general experience. As part of his presentation, the Dean also took the time to introduce the various staff of the Graduate school and related offices, highlighting the various roles they would play during the students’ time at GTUC.

The event was concluded with an interactive Q&A session which gave students an opportunity to acquire vital information from the relevant resource personnel that were present at the orientation. Overall the event was a successful one and we are encouraged by the continued patronage of our international Graduate programmes as we seek to further strengthen these transnational education partnerships.
