VC Honoured As Technology Education Icon In Africa

GCTU has once again demonstrated its leadership in the field of technology education, as the institution and its Vice-Chancellor, Professor Emmanuel Ohene Afoakwa, were honoured at the prestigious National Communication Awards 2024, held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at the Marriott Hotel in Accra.

Prof. Afoakwa received the coveted Technology Education Icon in Africa award, recognizing his outstanding contributions to advancing technology education on the continent. In a remarkable addition to this honour, Prof. was featured as a special cover page personality for the award ceremony, with his biography and photographs prominently showcased throughout the event’s official publication.

In a message of gratitude shared on his Facebook page, Professor Afoakwa expressed deep appreciation for the recognition, attributing the achievement to divine favour. The VC also highlighted the significant achievements of GCTU, which was honoured with the Excellence in Technology Education Award for its pivotal role in empowering Ghana’s digital evolution with its ambitious Silicon Valley vision.
Prof. Afoakwa encouraged the GCTU community to continue striving toward building the best ICT education brand in West Africa, reaffirming the University’s commitment to its Silicon Valley vision.
