The Faculty of Engineering, GCTU, in collaboration with the Engineering Students’ Association (ESA) and HIKVISION Ghana, has successfully organized a three-day intensive professional training workshop for Engineering students from 18 – 20 June 2026.
The workshop, dubbed “Career Boost + Boot Camp” was designed to equip students with practical, industry-relevant skills aimed at enhancing their employability and technical competence in today’s evolving Engineering and Technology landscape.

Speaking on the significance of the initiative, organizers noted that the workshop sought to move students beyond theoretical learning by providing hands-on laboratory and field-based experience that would prepare them for real-world Engineering practice.
The training sessions were facilitated by professionals from HIKVISION Ghana, who guided the students through practical training in several areas, including CCTV camera installation, smart gate installation, home automation systems, auto-attendance systems and alarm system installation.
At the end of the programme, participants were awarded certificates in recognition of their successful completion of the training.
The Faculty of Engineering commended the Engineering Students’ Association and HIKVISION Ghana for their collaboration and commitment to bridging the gap between academia and industry through practical skills development initiatives.
The Career Boost + Boot Camp forms part of the Faculty’s broader efforts to promote innovation, experiential learning and career preparedness among students at GCTU.
