The CEO of 2nd Generation IT Institute, Mr. Ferdnard Asamoah, has described AI as the backbone of technology and the next major force shaping today’s cyber world.
He made this remark during the final Cloud Cyber AI Seminar organized by GCTU in collaboration with 2nd Generation IT Institute on December 10, 2025, at the Tesano Campus as part of the Computer Science Department’s ongoing Seminar Series for the 2025 academic year.

The CEO highlighted the growing competitiveness of the global IT landscape, stressing the need for Ghana to position itself strategically. He noted that the country has the resources and potential to compete internationally, but emphasized that without practical skills, ambition alone is not enough.
Mr. Asamoah further stated that the partnership between GCTU and the 2nd Generation IT Institute will equip students with the practical, hands-on training required for them to excel in the industry.
He concluded by emphasizing the importance of continuous learning and consistent practice, noting that strong foundational knowledge enables students to compete on the global stage.

Earlier in his opening remarks, the Head of the Department of Computer Science, Dr. Emmanuel Freeman, emphasized that cloud AI and cybersecurity are the driving forces of the Fourth and Fifth Industrial Revolutions. He noted that these technologies are shaping innovative solutions that address real-time societal problems, making it essential for individuals and institutions to be actively involved, well-trained and positioned at the forefront to transform Africa and the world.
A member of the technical team, Mr. Isaac Tandoh, led students through a practical demonstration on how to launch a website through cloud technology.

The seminar concluded with an engaging question-and-answer session, allowing participants to seek clarity and deepen their understanding.
The successful turnout and active participation signal a promising future for ICT education at GCTU, as the University continues to position itself as a leader in Ghana’s digital transformation journey. GCTU’s collaboration with the Institute demonstrates its commitment to strengthening ties with industry partners for mutual benefit.
