Invitation To 23rd Prestigious Lecture
The School of Graduate Studies and Research, in partnership with University Relations and Graduate Students Association of Ghana (GRASAG) – GCTU, proudly presents GCTU’S 23rdPrestigious lecture.
This year’s Prestigious Lecture will be delivered by Prof. Manoj Maharaj, Professor of Information Systems and Technology of the University of KwaZulu Natal in South Africa. Prof Maharaj is a distinguished academic of more than 30 years with extensive experience in the management and leadership of higher education and training institutions.

The lecture will be chaired by our Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Emmanuel Ohene Afoakwa.
Following the Lecture, there would be a Research Workshop for GRASAG members on Saturday, 25th March at 10am.
Profile of Prof. Maharaj
Professor Manoj Maharaj is a Professor in the Discipline of Information Systems & Technology under School of Management, IT and Governance. Prof Maharaj has over 30 years of experience in academia, with extensive expertise in the management and leadership of higher education and training institutions. He has contributed significantly to the development of legislation policies and procedures related to State Owned Enterprises.
Prof. Maharaj has a deep knowledge of the ICT sector and has researched and published extensively in this domain. He has also contributed significantly to academic capacity development at various levels.
Prof. Maharaj has a B.Sc Qualification from the University of Durban-Westville, an M.Sc from the University of Witwatersrand. He obtained his PhD from the University of Kwazulu-Natal.
As the keynote speaker for GCTU’s 23rd Prestigious lecture, Prof. Maharaj brings to bear his immense experience in the field of Information Technology and Higher Education Delivery. Based on the Theme, “Digital Transformation in Higher Educational Institutions in the 21st Century”, the Lecture promises to be an insightful outlook into the prospects, challenges and lessons learnt with respect to this very topical aspect of Higher Education in our part of the world and beyond.
