Ralses Foundation, as part of its educational outreach initiative, has led groups of students to visit the Management of GCTU at its main Campus, Tesano Campus on Thursday, 2nd October, 2025.
The visit aimed at bringing students from the basic and secondary levels to the University to enlighten them about the wide range of tertiary education opportunities available in the various universities across the country, using GCTU as a model. The delegation was warmly received by the University’s Recruitment Office, led by an Assistant Registrar, Ms. Joan-of-Arc Naapok Wuobar, who officially welcomed the students and their patron.

In her address, Ms. Wuobar gave an insightful overview of GCTU, highlighting its vision, academic structure and contributions to higher education in Ghana. She further elaborated on the various programmes offered by the University and explained the admission requirements for each and encouraged the visiting students to work hard and consider GCTU as a preferred choice for their tertiary education.
Representing the Industrial Liaison Office, an Assistant Registrar, Mrs. Sandra Emefa Seke addressed the students and outlined the key services offered by her office. She explained that the office plays a crucial role in supporting students’ professional and personal growth through career development programmes, counseling services and industry partnerships. Mrs. Seke further noted that the office works closely with alumni and corporate organizations to create internship and job opportunities for students, ensuring a hands-on experience and a smooth transition from academic life to the world of work.

During the session, Mr. Mawuli Addo from GCTU’s Recruitment Office also took the students through the different types of scholarships accessible to Ghanaian students. He also explained the procedures involved in securing these scholarships and emphasized the importance of academic excellence and preparation in securing the scholarships.

In his address, the Executive Director of Ralses Foundation, Mr. Moses Albert Viala, explained that the Foundation’s educational tours are designed to expose students to a wide range of universities and tertiary institutions available in Ghana.
He noted that many students have only heard about these universities, but have never had the opportunity to visit them in person. The tours, therefore, aim to give students first-hand experience of various campuses, helping them understand the programmes offered, the learning environment and the opportunities available both during and after their studies.
Mr. Viala emphasized that such visits broaden students’ perspectives, enabling them to make informed decisions about their future education choices. He added that through these interactions, students also learn about available scholarship packages and how to access them. The overall goal, he said, is to help students appreciate Ghanaian universities, understand their unique offerings and be inspired to pursue higher education with a clear sense of purpose.

The event, which ended with a campus tour, provided an engaging platform for the students to interact with university representatives, ask questions and gain a clearer understanding of the opportunities that await them in higher education.
