
GCTU has taken a significant step in fostering academic collaborations by engaging in strategic partnership meetings with multiple universities from 16th – 17th May, 2025, in Monrovia, Liberia.
The strategic meetings aimed at fostering collaborative growth, strengthening existing ties and driving mutual development with African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E) University, while solidifying relationships and exploring new opportunities.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Emmanuel Ohene Afoakwa, delivered remarks at each of the separate meetings with the various universities, emphasizing that GCTU is Ghana’s specialized Information Technology institution, driving human capital development for digitalization. He emphasized the importance of GCTU expanding its services to other West African countries by leveraging Ghana’s strong presence on the continent. “We have built capacity over time and we do not have to operate in isolation. We have come to Liberia for collaboration with other institutions,” Prof. Afoakwa remarked. He further noted that we are in the fourth industrial revolution, where things are changing rapidly and there is a need to keep pace with emerging technologies.

- Collaboration on co-curricular activities.

- Discussed a potential MoU for GCTU’s Professional Development Courses and Online Teaching & Learning initiatives
