GCTU Signs MoU with GTI Health Care to Revamp Infirmary

According to the contract work on the infirmary is expected to be finished by 1st March

GCTU has signed an MOU with GTI Health Care, a subsidiary of Golden Tintona Investment Holdings (GTI Holdings) to revamp its infirmary.

The signing was done in a short ceremony on Thursday, 16th February at the Vice-Chancellor’s Boardroom.

The two institutions put pen to paper in an agreement that would see GTI Health Care, refurbish the infirmary and equip it with the tools and equipment necessary for the full operation of an infirmary.

Signing on behalf of GCTU, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Emmanuel Ohene Afoakwa expressed relieve that the agreement was finally signed after a period of back and forth. 

He was particularly excited about the prospect of having an infirmary on campus that would make medical services available to students and staff on twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week basis. 

He hinted that as part of the strategic direction of the university, Management was in advanced discussions with Kaneshie Poly Clinic to establish and operate a clinic on campus and they had already provided two nurses.

“This MOU will enable us to add pharmacy services to support the operation of the clinic”, Prof added.

The contract signed is for a three-year period subject to renewal upon satisfactory service.

Speaking on behalf of GTI Health Care, Mr. Cecil Patrick Duodu, Business Development Manager, expressed excitement for the opportunity to partner GCTU and hoped the relationship would “last a long time for the mutual benefit of both parties”. 

He indicated that they had already moved in to take measurements and would start work on the project as early as Friday, 17th February.

“Hopefully by 1st March, the infirmary should be operational”, Mr. Duodu assured. 

In attendance at the ceremony were Prof. Robert Ebo Hinson, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Mr. Emmanuel Baidoo, Registrar, Mr. Kennedy Oppong Fosu, Director of Audit, Dr. Michael Nana Owusu-Akomeah, Dean of Students and Mr. Bernard Owusu Sampong, SRC President. 

Representing GTI were Mr. Cecil Patrick Duodu, Business Development Manager and Madam Solace Boateng, Sales and Marketing Officer.
