Dr. David King Boison, Senior Lecturer at GCTU elected Chairman of Ethics Review Committee of NHIA

Dr. David King Boison, a Senior Lecturer and Head of Department for Marketing, Procurement and Logistics, has been elected chairman of the newly created Ethics Review Committee of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).

The committee was set up to ensure that there is compliance with the codes and protocols governing the use of the institution’s data for research and other purposes by researchers and institutions.

The seven-member committee was sworn in by the CEO, Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye

The seven-member committee which was sworn into office on 26th August 2022 on a two-year term by the CEO of the NHIA, Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye is mandated to

  • Review or recommend for modification all proposals for final approval by Management.
  • Ensure that all ethical issues are considered within the protocols submitted for review.
  • Make available to prospective researchers the NHIA-ERC administrative information and requirements among others.

We congratulate Dr. David King Boison on his new role. Obviously, he’s worked hard to reach this point, and we are so happy that he’s been recognized for his accomplishment with this new assignment. It is well-deserved.
