GCTU Signs Strategic Partnership with JCL to Expand International Learning Opportunities

GCTU has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Jamgo-Cee Limited (JCL), a leading educational travel and international exchange facilitation company, on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.

to provide students with enhanced opportunities for international exposure, industrial training, academic exchanges, and global leadership development.

The signing ceremony, which was led by the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ebenezer Malcalm, was witnessed by the Chairman of the GCTU Governing Council, Ing. Divine Kpetigo and members of the University’s Management.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Malcalm welcomed the partnership and recounted his long-standing engagement with the Chief Executive Officer of Jamgo-Cee Limited, Mr. John Kwadwo Amaniampong. He noted that discussions on international student opportunities began several years ago and have now culminated in a formal collaboration that aligns with GCTU’s commitment to producing globally competitive graduates.

According to Prof. Malcalm, the partnership will create pathways for GCTU students to participate in international industrial attachments, study tours, internships and career development opportunities in countries across Asia, Europe and North America.

Mr. Amaniampong highlighted the wide range of programmes available through Jungle Cee Limited’s international partnerships. He explained that the company serves as an exclusive partner of the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) in Ghana and Nigeria and facilitates student participation in global educational initiatives, including the WFUNA International Model United Nations programmes held annually at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

He revealed that upcoming programmes will take students to destinations such as Singapore, Switzerland, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia and other countries, where participants will engage with international organisations, leading universities, industries, and multinational companies.

The CEO further explained that the collaboration will provide GCTU students with opportunities to undertake short-term industrial training and internships in renowned institutions abroad. These programmes are designed to give students practical exposure, hands-on project experience and industry-based learning that complement their academic studies.

“Beyond travel, the objective is to expose students to global best practices, innovation ecosystems and emerging technologies while preparing them for international careers,” Mr. Amaniampong stated.

He also highlighted growing opportunities for outstanding students to access scholarships, research collaborations, graduate studies and potential employment opportunities through partner institutions and organisations in Asia and other regions.

The Chairman of the Governing Council, Ing. Divine Kpetigo, commended the initiative and described it as a valuable opportunity for GCTU students to broaden their horizons through international experiences. He encouraged the University community to embrace the programme and explore the numerous benefits it offers.

The other members of Management present at the ceremony included the Director of Finance, Mr. Ernest Awuah Apraku, Acting Registrar, Ms. Jennifer Akude, Director of Internal Audit, Dr. Kennedy Oppong Fosu and Director of University Relations, Dr. Nusrat-Jahan Abubakar.
