GCTU holds Ground-breaking ceremony for Internal Access Road Project

Interim Pro. Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Isaac Abeku Blankson, the Ag. Head of Procurement, Ms. Esi Fatu Sessay, Ag. Director, University Relations, Dr. Nusrat- Jahan Abubakar and some members of staff.

On Thursday, July 8, 2021, a Sod-cutting ceremony was held to officially commemorate the start of the Internal Access Road Pavement project. This project is scheduled to be completed within the next 3 months and is part of Management’s continued initiative to promote infrastructural development within the University.  As part of the ceremony, a management team, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Emmanuel Ohene-Afoakwa was taken on an inspection tour by the Ag. Director of Works and Physical Development, Mr. Gordon Baapiri.

During the tour, Mr. Baapiri briefed Management on the scope of the project focusing on its efficiency, safety, quality, and technicality. He assured the Vice-Chancellor that his outfit is determined to actively monitor the construction work and ensure that the contractors deliver a quality project and on time.

At the end of the inspection tour, the Vice-Chancellor turned the first sword to break grounds for construction works to begin.  Prof. Afoakwa thanked all members present, especially the project team of the GR Construction Company Ltd, and encouraged them to ensure the project is complete on time. He reassured members of his continued commitment to creating a conducive learning environment for the university and the community at large.

Also present at the ceremony were the Interim Pro. Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Isaac Abeku Blankson, the Ag. Head of Procurement, Ms. Esi Fatu Sessay, Ag. Director, University Relations, Dr. Nusrat- Jahan Abubakar and some members of staff.

 

GR Construction Company Ltd is encouraged to ensure the project is complete on time.
