GCTU Unveils Renovated HR Office

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Emmanuel Ohene Afoakwa, has unveiled a newly renovated office for the Human Resources and Organizational Development Directorate’s staff on Monday, 6th May 2024.

The renovation project, spearheaded by the Directorate of Works and Physical Development, was awarded to Xtreme Engineering Works Ltd.

The speed and efficiency with which the project was executed drew praise from the VC. Expressing his satisfaction, Prof. Afoakwa remarked, “Thank you very much on behalf of management for facilitating this and getting it done as quickly as you could.”

The project was supposed to be done in two months but the contractor, Messrs. Xtreme Engineering Works Ltd, used less than a month to complete it. “Our HR staff were not getting anywhere to sit. So, I’m really happy that you fast-tracked this, the VC added.”

Looking ahead, Prof. Afoakwa hinted at further improvements, stating, “We still have a number of projects we want to fix. This year a lot of offices will be fixed. We are going to fix them one after the other and eventually by the end of the year we will have all of them done.”

The Director of Human Resources and Organizational Development, Dr. Emmanuel Adjepong, expressed his gratitude to the VC while highlighting the significance of the renovated office in fostering productivity and comfort for the HR staff. “When people enter here now, they are really amazed and I think it will enhance productivity,” Dr. Adjepong expressed.

Reflecting on the project, the Director of Works and Physical Development, Surv. Gordon Baapiri emphasized its significance in enhancing the staff experience. “This project is a renovation of the HR office as part of our enhanced staff experience,” Mr. Baapiri stated.

The contractor, Xtreme Engineering Works Ltd, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate with GCTU. “On behalf of Xtreme, I want to say a very big thank you to the University and you, VC. It is our first time working with you, so we are grateful for the opportunity and we are looking forward to a better relationship with the University.”
