GCTU Council Inaugurates Assessment and Evaluation Committee for Re-appointment of Registrar and Director of Finance

The Governing Council of GCTU, led by the Chairman, Ing. Divine D. K. Kpetigo, has inaugurated an Eight-Member Committee to assess and evaluate the re-appointment of the Registrar and the Director of Finance on May 12, 2026, at the Vice-Chancellor’s Boardroom.

Addressing members of the Committee, the Council Chairman, urged them to ensure a thorough, objective and transparent assessment and evaluation process that will guide Council in determining the possible re-appointment of the Registrar and the Director of Finance.

The Council Chairman reiterated that the positions of Registrar and Director of Finance are critical to the University’s leadership and administrative structure, making it imperative that the assessment process is conducted in accordance with “Schedule H” of the GCTU Basic Laws, which outlines the procedures and expectations governing re-appointments to these high offices. Ing. Kpetigo administered the Oath of Office and Secrecy to the Committee members.

In his acceptance speech, the Chairman of the Committee and a Professor in Mathematics, University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), Prof. Dominic Otoo, expressed the Committee’s commitment to executing its mandate with the utmost seriousness, impartiality professionalism and in sync with the Terms and References assigned.

Prof. Otoo further emphasized the Committee’s resolve to complete its work within the stipulated timeframe to ensure continuity in the University’s administrative functions and avoid any leadership gaps.
