GCTU Bids Farewell To University Of Johannesburg Delegation

The farewell meeting was held in the Vice-Chancellor’s office

GCTU on Wednesday, 14th August 2024, bid a warm farewell to a delegation from the University of Johannesburg (UJ) as they depart to South Africa, marking the end of their successful visit.

In a brief ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Emmanuel Ohene Afoakwa, expressed his delight that the UJ delegation had enjoyed their stay in Ghana and engaged in fruitful discussions. He hinted a promising future for more collaborations, anticipating more research works, conferences, workshops, and a long-term partnership

The Director of the School of Consumer Intelligence and Information Systems at UJ, Prof. Stella Bvuma, on behalf of her team of three female scholars, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor, Management and the entire University community.

“This is our first time in Ghana and we have experienced the renowned Ghanaian hospitality, making us feel like we are away from home. Thank you very much for opening your doors to us during our short visit to Ghana. We appreciate the opportunity to connect with other departments and have had a rewarding experience. Thank you for hosting us,” she emphasized.

The UJ delegation was on an official visit to GCTU from 12 to 19 August 2024, to engage in various meetings with the University Management and faculty, deliver lectures, and participate in selected media engagements.
As a token of appreciation and gratitude, GCTU honoured the delegation with gifts.

The visitors were each presented with a goodie bag containing GCTU-branded souvenirs and bars of premium Ghana chocolate
