
The Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA), GCTU Chapter, has held a handing-over and swearing-in ceremony on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at the Eva Von Hirsch Auditorium
The aim of the ceremony was to officially usher in new executives to steer the affairs of senior members of the University for the next two years.

In his acceptance speech, the president elect, Dr. Kwame Owusu Afram, expressed gratitude to members for the confidence reposed in him and his team. He pledged to serve with integrity, transparency and dedication while prioritising the welfare of members.
Dr. Afram also commended members for their support during his previous tenure and acknowledged the contributions of the various committees to the achievements of the Association. He further praised the fair and transparent electoral process, assuring members of his team’s commitment to strengthening industrial relations and promoting the collective interests of the Association.

Following the handing-over of the Association’s official documents, the newly elected executives took the oath of office, administered by the President of GAUA, University of Media, Arts and Communication (UNIMAC) Chapter, Mr. Andy Adu-Sarbeng, on behalf of the GAUA National President.
The newly inducted executives comprise the following members:
1. Dr. Kwame Owusu Afram- President
2. Ms. Fatu Esi Sesay – Vice President
3. Ing. Philip Owusu Afriyie – General Secretary
4. Kingsley Kumah – Assistant Secretary
5. John Asante – Treasurer
The ceremony marked the beginning of a new two-year term for the executives, with a renewed commitment to advancing the welfare, professional development and collective interests of administrative and professional staff of GCTU.
