CAREER INFO SHOP 2018

The Office of Student Affairs held the 2018 GTUC Career Info Shop (GCIS) under the theme “Securing a future in a technology-driven economy”. The Career Info Shop is an annual event that creates a unique platform for students to engage and network with key industry players to gain practical insight into what they have studied in the classroom.

The Ag. Dean, Faculty of Engineering (GTUC), Dr. Daniel Adjin cut the tape to launch this year’s

Career Info Shop, he congratulated the Office of Student Affairs for the continued effort in ensuring the event is carried out annually. Dr. Adjin also encouraged the students to take advantage of the platform created and learn more about the job opportunities related to their respective areas of study.

While some students visited the various organizations set up at the GTUC forecourt (Main Campus), others interacted with prospective employers at the GTUC Career Info Shop. They also engaged in some activities such as seminars, workshops, CV clinics and counseling sessions facilitated by professionals from industry.

Speaking at the event Mr. Emmanuel Payne, a level 400 Engineering student, expressed his excitement and appreciation at the opportunity created for them. He said that most of his colleagues have seized the opportunity to learn more about the various work industries and how they relate to their respective areas of studies.

Organizations who exhibited at the event included; Vodafone, MTN, Brands Africa Ghana, Fidelity Bank, Ghana Armed Forces, etc. Some GTUC Alumni also attended the event to share their experiences with the students.

Also in attendance were, the Registrar, Dr. Mrs. Juliana Owusu Ansah, Head/Students Affairs, Ms.Evelyn Asiedu, staff and faculty members, students and invited partners.
