
The African Association of Deans of Student Affairs in Tertiary Institutions (AADSATI) five-day conference, which began on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, was successfully concluded on Thursday, August 14, 2025.
The conference, which brought together participants from various universities in different African countries, was held under the theme “Achieving Lasting Peace on Campus: The Roles and Responsibilities of Deans of Students’ Affairs.” It aimed at facilitating idea-sharing among DSAs, discussing common challenges and identifying unique issues faced by different countries.

In his closing remarks, the GCTU’s Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Michael Nana Owusu-Akomeah, on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, extended his appreciation to the participants for their active engagement and thanked the facilitators for sharing their valuable expertise. Prof. Owusu-Akomeah shared a conversation he had with the VC, who said, this conference reminded him of key conferences he attended as he climbed the academic ladder. Prof. Owusu-Akomeah hinted that although his tenure as Dean will expire at the end of 2025, he will remain committed to the Association and look forward to attending future conferences.

Certificates were awarded to participants who attended the conference.
Participants in the Conference took advantage of their presence in Ghana to visit the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum to gain insight into the life and legacy of Ghana’s first president.
