Keith Bisset, Coventry Chair of Board of Governors delivers 19th Prestigious Lecture
The 3rd of August, 2019 saw GTUC host its 19th Prestigious Lecture for Graduate students. The event was held at the Florence Onny Auditorium and was delivered by Mr. Keith Bissett, the Chair of the Board of Governors’ at Coventry University, our most established international partner. Mr. Bissett, also a Pro-Chancellor at Coventry University gave a veritably expert lecture on “Operational improvement through the use of lean tools”.
Using his wealth of industry experience in Human Resource, Change Management, Lean and Six Sigma, Mr. Bissett gave those in attendance a holistic insight of the various ways in which Operational processes can be improved using a combination of relatively simple methods. During his lecture, Mr. Bissett emphasized the importance of pro-action in terms of dealing with issues that may hamper operational success, as opposed to a reactionary approach.
The lecture was delivered in a fresh and interactive manner, with Mr. Bissett involving participants in activities to demonstrate the practical nature of operational improvement, as well as seeking their feedback and suggestions regarding regular operational challenges that may emerge particularly in the corporate domain.
The chair for the event was Dr. Malcalm, the Graduate School Dean, and he concluded the event by communicating his thanks to Mr. Bissett and commending him on the time and effort he put into delivering such an insightful, practical and expertly constructed lecture.
As with previous editions, the lecture presented students and staff alike an opportunity to network and gain invaluable academic and professional knowledge. We look forward to future editions and hope for much more of the same.
