Junior Assistant And Assistant Registrars’ Training

The Human Resource and Organizational Development Directorate held a 2-day training programme for all Junior Assistant and Assistant Registrars from both the Main and Satellite Campuses of the University. The training programme was held from Thursday, 1st August to Friday, 2nd August, 2019. The training programme was organized to orient and educate administrators regarding a multifaceted scope of subject matter relevant to both their operational and strategic functions.

Among the resource persons lending their expertise and knowledge to the training programme were the Head of Human Resources, Mr. Emmanuel Adjepong, the Registrar, Dr. Mrs. Juliana Owusu-Ansah, the Vice-President, Prof. Isaac Abeku Blankson, and the Director of Academic Affairs, Ms. Jennifer Akude.
In addition, members of Faculty, namely, Dr. Ezer Yeboah Osei-Boateng and Dr. Mabel Oti-Boadi were also on hand to contribute from their vast experience and wealth of knowledge.

The training proved to be an excellent initiative and provided a great deal of insight into a host of integral topics focusing on the requisite competency for administrators, the specific role of the Junior Assistant Registrar, as well the mental health of employees. The training also dealt with the intricacies of communication and the dynamics of the “silent language of business”, as well as records management the management of human resources as a senior administrator.

The participants were in unanimous agreement over the success and overall benefit of the programme and expressed their hope that there would be similar seminars organized in the near future.
