GCTU Engages Alumni

Ghana Technology University College has held an Alumni Networking Event at its Tesano Campus. The event brought together members of the Alumni association to interact and create a network which could serve as a platform to give support to their alma mater. Speaking at the event, the Ag. President of the Alumni Association, Mr. Mark Amamoah expressed his appreciation to management of GTUC for the initiative, stressing that it has created a platform to engage alumni to support the University. He recounted his experience at GTUC and how it has positioned him strategically in the world of work adding that the event will challenge alumni to be committed to their alma mater.

Mr. Mark Amamoah who is also a Brand Ambassador of the University called for periodic lectures, seminars and fund raising activities as a means to enhance networking and to lift the image of the alumni association. He encouraged members to celebrate their accomplishment and engage in mentoring and explained that such gestures will bring a sense of purpose and loyalty to the association. The Director, News Programming, Citi FM, Mr. Bernard Avle, who was the Guest Speaker for the event commended GTUC for the concept and reminded members to give back to institutions that has contributed their businesses careers.

In his presentation, Mr. Avle called on members to use their skills and potentials to impact society positively. The Head, University Relations and acting Head, Institutional Advancement, Ms Afua Amankwa Sarkodie in a presentation encouraged members of the association to contribute to the Graduate Resource Centre project with a commitment fee as part of efforts to raise funds to support GTUC. She mentioned that, the resource centre as one of the departments which needs refurbishment for a conducive learning environment. A study lounge, internet service among others was all earmarked as part of the refurbishment process at a cost GHC 94, 000.00.
