CSBPD Trains 15 Bui Power Authority Staff In Project Management (PMP)

The Centre for Strategic Business and Professional Development (CSBPD), GCTU has successfully conducted a five-day Project Management Professional (PMP) training for staff of the Bui Power Authority from May 4 to May 8, 2026 at the Forensic Lab, Tesano Campus.
The training programme was designed to equip participants with practical skills to effectively manage power and infrastructure projects within scope, quality standards and budget.

Delivering her opening remarks at the ceremony, the Director of CSBPD, Mrs. Araba Hackman Akanji, welcomed participants on behalf of Management and encouraged them to actively engage throughout the sessions. She urged participants to work closely with the facilitator, remain attentive and fully participate in all activities to maximize the benefits of the training.

Facilitating the programme, the Managing Director of CoreTech Agile Limited, Mr. Emmanuel Amankwah explained that the training sought to deepen participants’ understanding of project management concepts and enhance their ability to apply practical techniques in managing projects within the power and infrastructure sectors.

According to him, the training was intentionally structured to be practical rather than theoretical, enabling participants to critically assess their skills and adopt effective tools and techniques for improved project management.
He noted that the programme would help participants strengthen their capacity to manage projects more efficiently, contributing not only to the success of their organization, but also to national development.

The Five-day training covered five key areas:

  • Foundations of Project Management- Building the Skills to Deliver with Confidence, where participants were introduced to the fundamental principles and core competencies required for successful project execution.
  • Leadership and Team Coordination- with emphasis on practical leadership skills for infrastructure and energy sector managers, stakeholder engagement and team effectiveness.
  • Project Planning and Control- exposing participants to principles, frameworks and tools essential for planning, scheduling and controlling infrastructure and energy sector projects.
  • Risk, Quality and Project Governance- providing practical approaches to risk management, quality assurance and governance systems necessary for effective project delivery.
  • Project Monitoring, Reporting and Improvement- offering participants hands-on experience in project performance tracking, reporting mechanisms and continuous improvement strategies.
