New GRASAG–GCTU Executives Sworn In

The Graduate Students’ Association of Ghana (GRASAG), GCTU Chapter, has held a symbolic handing-over of mantle and swearing-in ceremony for its new cream of leadership on December 12, 2025, at the Vice-Chancellor’s Conference Room.

The formal transition of leadership signified continuity in student leadership and governance within the graduate student community.

In his address, the Head of Administration, School of Graduate Studies and Research (SGRS), Dr. Mark Ofori Nketia, encouraged the newly-inducted leaders to work collaboratively as a team alongside their members. He emphasized the need to ensure that all units of the Association function effectively to address any loopholes or inconsistencies within the constitution, noting that this would promote smooth and effective governance. Dr. Nketia concluded by assuring GRASAG–GCTU of Management’s full support as the new leadership assumes office.

The outgoing Secretary of GRASAG–GCTU, Hickma Sulley Sumani, who represented the outgoing leadership, emphasized the importance of unity among leaders. She urged the new executives to remain accessible to members, stay motivated to serve and maintain open and effective channels of communication.

The executives inducted into office comprise the following members:

. Mr. Constance Kwame Agbedinu- Organizer
. Mr. Emmanuel Akakpo- Representative of International Students.

In a brief remark, the new President, Mr. Andrew Abbey, pledged to work collaboratively with the executive team, upholding dignity and integrity to build a strong GRASAG–GCTU anchored on a shared vision.

The past EC Chair and a Junior Assistant Librarian, Mr. Philip Larry Anguah, urged the new executives to work as a team and allow the constitution to serve as their guiding principle in all their actions, in order to promote accountability and transparency.

The event concluded with goodwill messages and a group photograph to commemorate the occasion.

The successful handing-over reaffirmed GRASAG–GCTU’s dedication to effective leadership, accountability and collaboration.
