GTUC in Collaboration with Bluespace Africa And Mdf West Africa Launch Ghana Innovation Hub


The Ghana Innovation Hub set up by a consortium of the Ghana Technology University College (GTUC) Bluespace Africa and MDF West Africa under the e-Transform project of the Ministry of Communications has currently completed its first Incubation program, where 14 businesses were selected for incubation in line with the projects mandate.

The 14 businesses selected for the business incubation program included two business owned by former GTUC students and one business owned by two current level 300 students from FOCIS. The incubation program spanned a period of 10 weeks, with the 14 businesses receiving training, coaching, workshops and access to co-working space whiles working on their ( first) sales and partnerships. Participating businesses all received GHC 10, 000 for market validation and out of the grant component GHC 41,166.41 has been distributed directly to the entrepreneurs to date.

A final pitch event to select the most viable business was hosted on the 28th of March, 2019 and the winning business was rewarded with an investment of GHC 50, 000. The second cohort begins in July, where GTUC is expected to lead the Ideation process of selecting businesses to be incubated in the Hub.
