GCTU’s Quality Promotion and Assurance Directorate is managed by an experienced Quality Assurance specialist, Dr. Godwin Utuka. The Director who is an experienced educational administrator, has a thorough knowledge of university quality management systems with proven skills working with faculty, staff and students from diverse academic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds.
Dr. Utuka has worked in various educational institutions both locally and internationally. He has previously held the following positions: Assistant Registrar, UCC, Assistant Secretary, NAB, Administrator within the Office of the Pro VC, Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, and Director of Quality Assurance, UPSA
He Holds a PhD with a specialty in quality assurance and higher education management from the Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. He also has and M.Phil in Educational Administration from UCC.
His PhD thesis was on ‘Quality Assurance in Higher Education: Comparative Analysis of Provisions and practices in New Zealand and Ghana’ and he has published extensively on the subject and has also attended international conferences on quality assurance and higher education management to both present and discuss papers.
