ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead in the development and implementation of the human resource policies of the University; and (b) provide strategic planning with respect to the human resource needs of the University;
Coordinate all appointment and promotion processes in the University
Oversee recruitment process in close coordination with Heads of Departments
Keep, maintain and update records of Staff;
Plan and ensure execution of staff orientation and career development programmes;
Provide general support services and recreational activities to Staff
Ensure the timely renewal and termination of employment contracts
Manage Staff compensation and benefits in conjunction with the Directorate of Finance
Institute and maintain a system for monitoring and evaluating the performance of all employees of the University and submit reports thereon to the Vice-Chancellor and the Council;
Manage and advise on the collective bargaining process and collective agreements with unionized staff;
Draw and maintain an effective succession plan; andcoordinate employee activities in compliance with national and international laws;
Institute a system for continuing education and in-service training for all employees of the University
