Profile

Theresa Obuobisa-Darko holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Public Administration and Policy Management, a Master of Philosophy in Public Administration as well as a Masters of Business Administration (Human Resource Management option), all from the University of Ghana.  Also, she obtained a Master’s degree in Organsational Development and a Bachelor of Education in Home Economics both from the University of Cape Coast.

She has over thirty (30) years teaching and research experience in the field of Human Resource Management, Organisational Development and Public administration. She has taught at all levels of the educational ladder, from the basic to the tertiary level.

She is currently an Associate Professor in Human Resource Management at the Ghana Communication Technology University. Prior to joining Ghana Communication Technology University, she taught at both graduate and undergraduate levels in the Faculty of Business Administration at the Methodist University College Ghana in Accra.

Dr. Emmanuel Attah Kumah Amponsah is currently a senior Lecturer and the head of Accounting, Banking and Finance Department at GCTU Business School, Ghana Communication Technology University. Dr. Emmanuel Attah Kumah was a professional teacher after which he was appointed as the Pre-University Co-ordinator at All Nations University, Koforidua-Ghana (West Africa) and later became the Pre-University Director at All Nations University College, from 2009 to 2011.

He became the Deputy Registrar for Academic Affairs at All Nations University, Koforidua, Ghana from 2013 to 2014. He was a Guest Lecturer at Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Science (SHUATS), Allahabad in India, from 2014 to 2017. He became the School of Business Assistant Dean at All Nations University, Koforidua, Ghana from 2016 to 2017.

From 2017 to 2018, he became the director of Advancement and the head of Accounting Department at All Nations University, Koforidua, Ghana. From 2018 to 2020, he was the Director of Research and a head of Banking and Finance Department.

He was the programme director for Accounting and Finance at Nobel International Business School (NiBS). He is the President and Founder of Scholarsglobe. He attended Ghana Senior High School, Koforidua – Ghana; Presbyterian College of Education, Akropong-Akuapem, Ghana; All Nations University, Koforidua, Ghana; SRM University, Chennai – India; Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences (SHUATS), Allahabad – India.

He is highly qualified business executive with over twenty (20) years working experience at senior management positions. He has been actively involved in teaching, research and consultancy in a distinguished career spanning over 20 years. He has taught from the basic schools, Junior High Schools, Senior High Schools and to the University level.

Besides having a brilliant academic career, he has also excelled as an administrator, academician and consultant of international repute. Dr. Emmanuel Attah Kumah was the Sports Secretary for Kade zone (2003-2007).

He was one of the Health Insurance Agents for Ghana (2004-2006). He was the President of Bunso Youth Association, Ghana (2001-2003). He was an examiner of West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) from 2006-2011. He was an executive member of Council of Independent Universities in Ghana (from 2013 to 2014).

He is the Vice Chair of Bunso Quarters Association. He is a member of International Forum of Management Scholars (INFOMS – U.S.A). He is a member of Association of India Management Scholars (AIMS).

He regularly contributes articles and research papers to the national and international journals. He has been invited as Session Chair, Guest Speaker, Chief Guest, Conference Patron and Advisory Board Member for both National and International Conferences held in some of the reputable renowned institutions in the world.

He won the Presidential Award for 2010/2011 academic year at All Nations University, Koforidua, Ghana; staff award. He won an award from Universal Merchant Bank of Ghana as the Best Student in Accounting and Finance (2010) at ANU. His student won the First Position in National Mathematics and Science Quiz, Ghana, 2005, organized by Mathematics Association of Ghana (MAG).

Two of his students took two consecutive times overall best student in B.E.C.E. in Ghana and were honored by the President of Ghana. He is currently involved in the strengthen and innovation systems in the Ghana education as well as Africa.

On 6th September, 2014 Dr. Emmanuel received Dronacharya Award as a star of excellence presented by International Association of Engineering and Management Education (www.iaeme.com). He won the most enterprise faculty of the year 2019 at All Nations University College, Koforidua, Ghana.

Prof. George Oppong Appiagyei Ampong is the Dean of the GCTU Business School. Prof. Ampong holds qualifications of PG Cert in International Higher Education Academic Practice from Coventry University in 2017, Ph.D. in Business Administration in 2013 from the Business University of Costa Rica, MSc in Health Services Planning & Management from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in 1999 and a BA (Hons) in Philosophy & Religion from the University of Ghana in 1996.

He has an 11-year teaching career in management courses including Marketing Management, Human Resource Management, Entrepreneurship, Strategic Management, Public Administration, Business Administration and Corporate Governance. He was also the Director of the Kumasi Campus of the GCTU from 2014 to 2015. He is an enterprising person and facilitator in entrepreneurship development and SME quality improvement and management services in developing countries.

He has 26 years’ experience in managing non-profit and voluntary organisations, organisational development and administration, 12 years in private enterprises and organization and 5 years in public service. Before joining academia, he held leadership and managerial positions as Chief Executive Officer, Head of Administration and Finance and Programme Manager over the years. He is also a founding Director and CEO of the Ghana Section of Defence for Children International.

Prof. Ampong has managed donor-funded projects of the World Bank, African Development Foundation, International Development Research Center, USAID, Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and UNICEF. He has also participated in several local and international workshops and conferences on education, business, technology, microfinance, entrepreneurship, and human rights.

Additionally, Prof. George Oppong Appiagyei Ampong has more than 20-years of professional experience in training and support for peer education, managing programmes focused on business and skill development and training, gender equality and child protection as well as stakeholder networking.

Prof. Ampong is a representative for Ghana Communication Technology University in the African-German Entrepreneurship Academy (AGEA) and the African Centre for Career Enhancement and Skills Support (ACCESS) Networks, convened by the KNUST. He initiated the Entrepreneurship Hub at the Business School in GCTU responsible for entrepreneurship development including capacity building, business incubation and mentorship for business start-ups within the University community.

He is also team-lead for GCTU in the Ghana Innovation Hub, (2.1-million-dollar e-transform project) of the Ministry of Communication with support of the World Bank, in consortium with MDF-West Africa and BlueSpace Africa. He has expertise in entrepreneurship and project development, implementation, monitoring & supervision, and capacity building with experience in managing a program for business improvement and financing for private health facilities in Ghana with support from the Medical Credit Fund, Africa

Besides teaching and research, Prof. George Oppong Appiagyei Ampong has rendered service to the University, and the National and International Community in various capacities.

Profile

Dr. Esi Akyere Mensah (FHEA) is a senior lecturer and former Acting Head, Department of Management and Human resources at the Business School of Ghana Communication Technology University.

She has a Ph.D in Tourism Management from the University of Cape Coast and MSc. in Development Management from the University of Agder in Norway. Her research interests include sustainable and volunteer tourism, migration, leadership and development issues in emerging economies. She is currently an editorial board member for the Tourism Planning and Development Journal.

Profile

Dr. Ethel Yiranbon is a Senior lecturer with 7 years research and Teaching experience in Higher education in addition to being the founder of Smile All Foundation. She has participated in a number of research activities which have resulted in about 30 peer reviewed publications and supervised over 60 postgraduate and undergraduate theses and projects. Her Research interests are in Leadership, Sociology of Health, Healthcare Technology, elderly care and Change management.

Dr. Yiranbon has previously served as a program manager, module leader and Head of academic Affairs at the Graduate school of GCTU. She is currently a full-time lecturer of the department of Management and HR at Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU). She holds a Ph.D. in Management Science and Engineering, from Jiangsu University, China, an MPhil in Sociology and a B.A in Sociology with Philosophy both from the University of Ghana, Legon, Accra, Ghana. She also holds a number of online Certificates from reputable international institutions.
