A total of 100 fresh students pursuing the Association of Business Executives (ABE) Level 4 Foundation Diploma at GCTU have undergone a day-long orientation programme on Friday, October 30, 2026, at the University’s main Campus in Tesano, Accra.

The orientation which was organised by the Centre for Strategic Business and Professional Development (CSBPD), GCTU, was meant to familiarise the students with the structure, requirements and opportunities offered by the programme.

The students were introduced to the ABE qualification, highlighting its professional benefits, international recognition and academic progression pathways available to students in Ghana.

Participants were also taken through the programme’s modules, including Enterprising Organisation, Employability and Self-Development and Finance for Managers.

Dr. Yeboah advising the students on the career opportunities available to graduates of the ABE programme

The West African Regional Manager and Country Director of ABE Global Ltd, UK, Dr Isaac Yeboah, said the programme places strong emphasis on essential soft skills, including analytical thinking, resilience and technological literacy, to prepare students for the demands of an increasingly Artificial Intelligence (AI) -driven working environment.

He further noted that the programme offers specialisation opportunities in Business Management, Human Resource Management, Marketing and Tourism and advised them to take their studies seriously.

He said that although AI could be useful for research, students were expected to produce original work, as assignments are submitted to the UK for assessment, noting that, qualified tutors would be providing guidance throughout their learning process.

Dr. Yeboah stressed that students must complete their assessments to qualify for progression to degree top-up programmes and access international employment opportunities.

Dr. Asante speaking at the orientation

The Director of CSBPD, Dr Vera Graham Asante, urged students not to regard the programme merely as a means of obtaining a degree but to recognise the career opportunities and added advantages it offers.

She explained that the six-month programme gives students opportunities to gain practical, industry-relevant skills, build confidence and establish a strong foundation for academic and professional success.

Dr. Asante assured the students of CSBPD’s commitment to supporting them throughout their studies and encouraged them to remain focused and take their academic responsibilities seriously.
