
The Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA), GCTU Chapter, has successfully elected a new executive committee to steer the affairs of the Association for the 2026 – 2028 term on Friday, 10th July 2026.
The outcome of the polls which were held online, saw continuity in the leadership of the Association, with all incumbent executives retaining their respective positions after running unopposed. All the other candidates also run unopposed.
The Head of the Electoral Committee, Mr. Philip Larry Anguah, declared Mr. Ebenezer Aboagye Asare elected as Learning Centre Representative, securing 60 Yes votes against zero No votes. Mr. John Asante, Treasurer, received 62 Yes votes against One No vote, while Mr. Kingsley Kumah, Assistant Secretary, obtained 59 Yes votes and three No votes.
For the Secretary position, Mr. Philip Owusu Afriyie garnered 57 Yes votes against six No votes. Ms. Fatu Esi Sesay, who retained her position as Vice President, received 58 Yes votes and four No votes.
At the presidential level, Dr. Kwame Owusu-Ansah Owusu Afram was re-elected President after polling 57 Yes votes against seven No votes.
A total of 62 GAUA members, representing 48.8% out of 127 eligible voters cast their ballots in the elections.
Declaring the results, Mr. Anguah stated that all candidates had met the required threshold and were therefore duly elected to office.
