GCTU Holds Open Forum for Students

The Office of the Dean of Students Affairs has held an open forum for students on June 2, 2026, at the Florence Onny Auditorium, Tesano Campus. The aim of the forum was to provide students with an opportunity to express their views, share concerns and suggest improvements aimed at enhancing student experience.

In his welcome address, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ebenezer Malcalm, described the forum as a valuable platform for dialogue, inclusion and innovation. He encouraged students to participate actively by sharing their ideas, perspectives and solutions with clarity and confidence, while fostering an atmosphere of openness and mutual respect.

In her opening remarks, the Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Emelia Amoako Asiedu, underscored the importance of the forum as a platform for students to engage with the University’s leadership, faculty, staff and fellow students in a spirit of collaboration and shared purpose. She noted that fora promote dialogue, inclusivity and innovation while strengthening the relationship between students and the institution. Prof. Asiedu assured students that their concerns would be addressed and that efforts would be made to implement necessary improvements.

During the interactive session, students raised several concerns relating to their academic and campus experience. In response, the Deans of the various Faculties/Schools and Directors present addressed the concerns raised. The University officials assured students that the concerns and suggestions put forward would be carefully considered and addressed through the appropriate procedures and channels.

The forum brought together students, administrative staff, Deans of Faculties/Schools and representatives from various Directorates and Departments, providing a platform for constructive engagement and collaborative problem-solving. The discussions offered valuable insights into issues affecting students and generated practical recommendations aimed at enhancing the overall student experience at the University.
