Multimedia Authoring

Examine the use of computer technology to enhance presentations and creates interactive educational and training materials; it covers screen design, animation, and scripting. Note: Additional lab time outside of class may be required to compete course projects.

Course Objective

  • To recognize various forms of language processing and their implication for media authoring
  • To Identify and explain key principles of information architecture , effectively manage knowledge for both information retrieval and archival purposes, and evaluate and choose appropriate information architecture and knowledge management strategies for a given situation.

Career Prospects

Software companies that publish edutainment CD/DVD titles are the major employers. Perhaps the best job prospects for multimedia authors exist in e-learning companies, which are growing at a rapid pace as more companies and universities implement e-learning solutions. Schools, colleges and universities need multimedia authors , if they develop their own courseware.
