MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP FOR HODS/SENIOR ADMIN. MEMBERS

The Human Resource Unit has organised a workshop for faculty and Staff of the University.

The workshop which centred on performance management was necessitated by the recent concern about staff performance and the need to enhance delivery.

The event which took place in the Eva Von Hirsch Auditorium was also to sensitize Heads of Departments and Senior Administrative Staff on Management Performance goals and ensure adherence regarding setting Departmental/Unit objectives.

Speaking at the event, the President, GTUC, Dr. Osei K. Darkwa took participants through Management goals for 2014 as captured in his speech at the breakfast meeting in January.

He explained that, it takes collaborative effort for an organisation to achieve its goals. “It is expected that all of us play our honest part to be able to grow as an institution”, he added.

He further stated that, Management is ready to reward staff in terms of salaries and other remunerations for their resourcefulness and performance. It is therefore incumbent on Staff to perform in order to attract the best of rewards.

In attendance were the Vice President, GTUC, Dr. Robert Awuah Baffour, Registrar, GTUC, Prof. Patrick Otoo Bobbie and other key members of the University College.

Faculty and Staff who attended the workshop were given the opportunity to ask questions and concerns were addressed.
