Profile

Dr. Isaac Osei Nyantakyi is a Lecturer, researcher, and Information and Communication Engineer with expertise in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, signal processing, wireless communications, localization and positioning systems, Internet of Things (IoT), wireless sensor networks, optimization, mobile edge computing, and intelligent systems.

He holds a PhD and MSc in Information and Communication Engineering and a BSc in Telecommunication Engineering. His research focuses on the development of computationally efficient algorithms and intelligent systems for wireless communications, localization, sensing, and emerging communication networks. His doctoral research investigated Non-Line-of-Sight hybrid TDOA–AOA localization using adaptive conjugate-gradient techniques, with applications to dense wireless and 5G environments.

Dr. Nyantakyi has teaching experience across Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, Artificial Intelligence, and Signal Processing. His teaching portfolio includes Machine Learning and Neural Networks, Digital Signal Processing, Signals and Systems, Principles of Communication, Wireless Sensor Networks, Microprocessor Systems and Interfacing, Computer Architecture, and Advanced Signal Processing, among other courses.

Beyond teaching and research, Dr. Nyantakyi is actively involved in technology innovation and Artificial Intelligence capacity development. He is an AI Champion for the Google DeepMind AI Foundations initiative, contributing to a grant-supported programme that trains students in Ghana in Artificial Intelligence, Large Language Models (LLMs), and responsible AI. He is also a part-owner of Doxa AI Solutions, a Ghanaian AI company developing enterprise-grade artificial intelligence and automation solutions for businesses in Ghana and across Africa.

Dr. Nyantakyi's applied innovation activities include intelligent transportation systems, assistive educational technologies, AI/IoT-based environmental monitoring, wireless localization, and intelligent sensing. He has supervised and participated in externally supported projects, including Anidasoɔ – An Inclusive Offline Learning Device for Visually Impaired Children – Ghana, supported by an EPICS in IEEE grant of USD 6,000.

His professional interests centre on translating research in AI, communications, signal processing, and intelligent systems into practical technologies capable of addressing societal and industrial challenges in Ghana and Africa.
