ADMISSION OF CANDIDATES TO UNDERGRADUATE DIPLOMA & DEGREE PROGRAMMES FOR 2023/2024 ACADEMIC YEAR
It is announced for the information of prospective Applicants (as specified above) and the general public that application to Diploma/Degree/Top-Up programmes of study at the Ghana Communication Technology University for the 2023/2024 Academic Year are now on sale.

ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS FOR BACHELOR DEGREE PROGRAMMES
I. SSSCE Certificate Holders:
At least credit passes (A-D) in three(3) core subjects, English Language, Integrated Science (for Science/Technology programmes) and Mathematics or Social Studies (for Business Programmes) plus at least credits(A-D) in any three(3) elective subjects in the relevant area of study.
II. WASSCE Certificate Holders:
At least credit passes (A1-C6) in three(3) core subjects, English Language, Integrated Science (for Science/Technology programmes) and Mathematics or Social Studies (for Business Programmes) plus at least credits(A-D) in any three(3) elective subjects in the relevant area of study.
III. ‘O’ Level/’A’ Level Holders:
Passes in 3 subjects (at least, one of the passes should be Grade D or better) at A-Level. Also, the applicants must have had credit passes (Grade 6) in five(5) GCE O-Level Subjects including English Language, Mathematics and a Science subject (for non-science students) and Arts Subjects(for science students).
IV. GBCE Holders:
At least three credit passes (A-D) in English Language, Integrated Science plus at least credit passes (A-D) in three (3) relevant elective subjects.
V. Mature Applicants:
Must be at least 25 years old or above and must show proof of age with a birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of date which is at least 5 years old at the time of application. Applicants must write and pass a Mature Entrance Examination Organised by GCTU.
VI. Holders of the following qualifications:
a. Stage 1 of ACCA, ICA, Associates of Chartered Institute of Bankers (ACIB), Chartered Institute of Marketing(CIM) with five (5) credits at GBCE or GCE ‘O’ Level including English Language and Mathematics. b. American Grade 12 c. City & Guilds Technician Diploma/ Advanced Diploma in relevant area of study. d. International Baccalaureate (IB)/ Diploma holders will go through a compulsory three(3) months English Proficiency class before starting their programme. Applicants must submit both the original and translated versions of their results slips.
NB: Foreign qualifications would require GTEC’s determination of equivalences and eligibility for admission.

HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) AND OTHER DIPLOMA APPLICANTS
I. Holders of Higher National diploma (HND) qualifications relevant to the programme of study from a recognised Technical universities will be placed in either Level 200 or Level 300 accordingly.
II. Holders of Diploma qualifications relevant to the programme of study from any accredited tertiary institution will be assessed on an individual basis. They may require verification from the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) to inform admission to either Level 200 or Level 300 accordingly.
III. Holders of Advanced Business Certificate Examination (ABCE): Full Diploma Certificate in ABCE in addition, applicants must have had credit passes in five (5) subjects including English Language< mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies in the GBCE or WASSCE/SSSCE ABCE. Applicants meeting this requirement would be considered for admission into level 200.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION TO DIPLOMA PROGRAMME
For Science and Technology Programmes:
I. SSCE Certificate Holders: Passes (A-D) in five (5) subjects comprising three (3) core subjects, English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science plus two (2) relevant elective subjects.II. WASSCE Certificate Holders: Passes (A1-D7) in three (3) core subjects, English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science plus two (2) relevant elective subjects. NB: At least three (3) of the core and elective subjects should be credit passes (A1 - C6)
For Arts and Business Programmes:
I. SSCE Certificate Holders: Passes (A-D) in five (5) subjects comprising three (3) core subjects, English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science plus two (2) relevant elective subjects.
II. WASSCE Certificate Holders: Passes (A1-D7) in three (3) core subjects, English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science plus two (2) relevant elective subjects. NB: At least three (3) of the core and elective subjects should be credit passes (A1 - C6)
III. GBCE CERtificate Holders: Credit passes (A-D) in five (5) subjects comprising three (3)core subjects including English Language, Mathematics plus two (2) elective subjects relevant to the applicant’s area of study.
IV. Diploma in Business Studies (DBS) Candidates : Four (4) WASSCE credit passes (A1-C6) or four (4) SSCE passes (A-D) including English Language, Mathematics, plus DBS qualifications will be considered for admission.

Visit admissions.gctu.edu.gh and apply online by paying for the application forms and submit completed application forms online, or: .
Alternatively, pay for the GCTU Application Form at a cost of GHS 200.00 at any CBG Bank Branch and obtain the application form at any of the University’s campuses, or; .
Download the application form from the University’s website. Submit the completed form together with a payment receipt of GHS 200.00 being the cost of application fee paid at any CBG Bank Branch to the Admissions Office at any of the University's campuses.Closing Date All completed forms with certified copies of certificates/Result slips/Transcripts must be submitted, not later than October 31st, 2023. -

MATURE APPLICANTS
Applicants who have attained the age of 25 years or above at the time of applying will show with a proof. They will then go through an access course in their area of study after which an examination would be conducted. Successful applicants will then be written to commence their studies.
Registration Process:
Registration for the Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU) mature access course for the 2022 academic year is slated from Monday, June 27 to Saturday, August 27, 2022. Successful applicants will be admitted into Level 100 Bachelor of Science programmes based on their performance in the entrance examinations:
Entry requirements:
- Applicants must be at least 25 years old at the time of application and show proof of age with birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of date of birth which is at least 5 years old.
- Applicants must register for, attend and complete the GCTU Access Course and pass the Mature Students’ Entrance Examination conducted by the University.
- Applicants who pass the Entrance Examination would be enrolled onto a BSc programme.
