Nana Ama Poku, a Chartered Marketer has been appointed a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK). She now carries the FCIM qualification which is a recognition that Nana Ama is at the top of the marketing profession having garnered several years of senior strategic experience working at the C-Suite level.

Nana Ama Poku was appointed a Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU) Practitioner in Residence (PIRES) for the year 2024. The PIRES Programme is in line with the GCTU mission of remaining a centre of academic excellence providing an enabling environment for quality teaching and learning, research, intellectual creativity, innovation, entrepreneurial development, and service to Community. Private Practitioners in Residence serve for a year and visit any GCTU campus in person, or connect virtually twice of thrice a year, to interact with students, deliver guest lectures and seminars, and provide career guidance.

Nana Ama is an experienced banking professional, who has demonstrated adeptness at implementing process improvement, workflow, and customer retention strategies towards corporate strategy execution at the C-Suite level.

With a career spanning over two decades, Nana Ama has a background in Risk Management, Banking Operations, SME and Corporate Banking, support for non-bank financial institutions as well as oversight of core support functions including Corporate Communications, Administration, Customer Experience and Product Development.

Nana Ama studied for an Executive MBA (Entrepreneurial Management) in the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship at the University of Ghana Business School from 2008 – 2010 having acquired earlier, an MA in Marketing Communications from the University of Westminster Business School in the UK.

Nana Ama’s top professional skills span strategic planning, team building and organisational leadership and is the recipient of several awards including the Ghana Women of Excellence Award, the Global Leadership Excellence Award, Outstanding Woman in Finance Award, and is the Global Chair (Exports and Credit) at the Women Economic Forum (WEF).
