VC, Prof. Emmanuel Ohene Afoakwa To Deliver Lecture At University Of Johannesburg

The Vice-Chancellor of GCTU, Prof. Emmanuel Ohene Afoakwa, is set to deliver a lecture at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa, on March 1, 2024.

The lecture, titled The Versatility of Cocoa – Reflections on Two Decades of Research and Practice, promises to be an insightful journey into the world of cocoa, giving Prof. Afoakwa’s extensive expertise and experience.

The lecture will take place from 10:00am to 12:30pm (South African time) at the APK Library Chinua Achebe Auditorium (Level 6), University of Johannesburg. The event, hosted by Prof. Letlhokwa Mpedi, Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the University of Johannesburg and Prof. Annah Moteetee, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Science, is expected to attract academics, industry professionals and enthusiasts alike.

Having embarked on a tour of South African universities, Prof. Afoakwa has already left a mark with his insightful lectures at the University of Zululand and Mangosuthu University of Technology in Durban. His topics, Cocoa and Africa – Reflections of An African Scholar and Building a World Class Scholarly Profile, have garnered rave reviews, showcasing his profound knowledge and understanding of cocoa and its significance.

Prof’s distinguished career spans various leadership roles in academia, and he holds the esteemed title of Chief of Fiapre Traditional Area in the Bono Region of Ghana under the stool name Obrempong Professor Kyem-Amponsah II.
