Current Happening at GCTU


[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]GTUC has held its 15th Matriculation Ceremony for students of its main Campus in Tesano.

The ceremony was held to formally admit into its Tesano, Campus Seven Hundred and Twenty-Two (722) new students who have enrolled to pursue various undergraduate programmes at the Faculties of Engineering, Informatics and IT Business.

The Registrar, GTUC, Prof. Patrick Otoo Bobbie, administered the matriculation oath to the students.

In her welcome address, Head of Student Affairs, GTUC, Ms. Evelyn Asiedu, advised the students to take their studies seriously and develop their talents to be able to contribute meaningfully to the development of Ghana and Africa as a whole. She added that just a few Ghanaians have access to tertiary education and Matriculates should count themselves blessed if they have the opportunity.

She encouraged the students to be actively involved in on-campus associations to help them appreciate the value of teamwork, leadership and management skills for future success.

In his matriculation address, the Vice President of GTUC, Dr. Robert Awuah Baffour, congratulated the freshmen on their admission to GTUC. He said “GTUC’s vision is to produce students who will excel both in the classroom and on the job. Not only will you excel in the classroom and on the jobs when you graduate, but will also thrive in the society to become ambassadors for GTUC, your country and as global citizens”.

On behalf of his colleagues, Master Emmanuel Owusu, a BTE Level 100 student expressed appreciation to the University for the opportunity given them to study and also providing state-of-the-art teaching and learning facilities on campus. He urged his colleagues to study hard to excel in academic work to make parents and guardians proud.

The event was also attended by parents, guardians and other invited guests.
