GTUC Holds 10th Congregation Ceremony

Ghana Technology University College (GTUC) has held its 10th congregation ceremony.

Students graduated in various Masters programmes that GTUC runs in collaboration with its international partners. Partners include Coventry University, UK, Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, Germany and CASS Europe. In all about, about 310 students graduated in the areas of Engineering, Business Administration and Healthcare Management.

The colourful event saw a lot of dignitaries in attendance. These include Mrs. Sylvia Asempa who stood in for the GTUC Council and the Chief Executive Officer, Kama Group of Companies, who was the guest speaker for the occasion. Other officials include representatives from partnering institutions, media personnel, alumni, family and friends of graduates.

In his address to the congregation, Dr. Osei K. Darkwa, President, GTUC, enumerated some of the achievements of the University College.

He mentioned the projects and programmes that are currently on-going which he said were a manifestation of GTUC’s commitment to the delivery of quality technology education.

Speaking on behalf of the Council Chair, Mrs. Sylvia Asempa, GTUC Council member said “Beyond establishing physical campuses, our plan is to consolidate our efforts to put all our courseware online, so that students everywhere can have access without necessarily visiting our campuses”. She assured graduates of their enormous potential and advised them to pursue their dreams.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Michael Agyekum Addo, Chief Executive Officer, Kama Group of Companies, charged graduates to see themselves as leaders and not followers. Speaking on Entrepreneurship, Dr. Agyekum Addo explained that, graduates should leverage the training they have acquired coupled with their individual experiences to be the pace setters in today’s ever changing global economy.

A member of the graduating class, Mr. Selasi Kofi Ahorlumega speaking on behalf of his colleagues said “I entreat us all not to channel our brain power to giving intelligent excuses for why things cannot be done right but to find real lasting solutions to problems by asking questions and demanding right answers.
